Destroyer in Out Magazine

And so Destroyer finally made it into the world’s biggest gay magazine – head out to buy the February issue of Out for an interview with me, Karl Andersson. An excerpt:
Andersson began his career in traditional journalism, helming Sweden’s glossy gay magazine, Straight, and working at newspapers. He sees Destroyer as a link to a bygone era that was sacrificed as homosexuality became mainstream.
“The gay movement has lost touch with its past,” he says. “It was founded to a large extent by men who were attracted to adolescent boys in Germany in the beginning of the 20th century. That should be acknowledged and it isn’t. We should honor them because we owe them our freedoms – instead, we despise them.”

The new Zlatan

A message to our Swedish readers: Don’t miss the new tv series I Zlatans fotspår, in which Zlatan Ibrahimović’s former trainers put together a dream team of the best teenage football players they have found in smaller clubs. It premieres tonight at 22.30, but already now you can watch the whole programme here:
The first episode was great. I have only one concern: Where are the girls? Is it really fair to make a show like this without making sure that at least half the team members are female? I can’t wait for the first debate article on the subject.

Vogue Hommes Japan goes Gay Times

Rodeo’s Daniel Björk commented that Vogue Hommes Japan’s latest cover feels like “a tacky gay magazine”. I agree and made this picture:

It shows the Vogue Hommes Japan cover along with Gay Times’ april 2009 cover, which, repelling as it is, pretty much sums up the state of gay aesthetics today.
Läs Daniel Björk om piratpartiet

This post is in Swedish:
Rodeos chefredaktör Daniel Björk röstade på piratpartiet, precis som jag själv. Han skriver:
Jag är trött på att fildelning, internet, Google etc. framställs som ett hot mot kulturen. Jag är övertygad om att det är precis tvärtom: att begränsningen av internet är det verkliga hotet både mot oss och mot kulturen.
Missa inte Daniels krönika om pojken som ideal i modevärlden i senaste Destroyer.
